Soroptimist International of Ceres

Our Goal

“To empower girls in our community to achieve unimagined possibilities and instill knowledge and discovery, resulting in enhancing their own personal strengths; and to foster the natural bond between all women through hands-on education, mentorship, and dedicated leadership.”

S.E.T. – Soroptimist Empowering Teens

For 14 years, Soroptimist of Ceres has partnered with Ceres Unified School District to bring S.E.T. workshops to students at Mae Hensley, Blaker Kinser, and Louie Arrollo Junior High Schools. We thank CUSD for this working partnership!

Each month, Soroptimist members and guests spend time with the girls after school combining educational topics, hands-on activities, snacks, and lots of fun!

“Girl Talk” topics include future goals, body image, calming anxiety, peer pressure, internet safety. The session ends with a creative Craft activity the girls can take home – from flower arranging and bracelet making to cookie decorating, painting, and creating Dream Boards.

S.E.T. has been accepted as a Soroptimist Big Goal Accelerator Project, and we are excited to have recently received a Soroptimist grant that will provide Hygiene Kits (Good Hygiene) for 180 S.E.T. participants during the 2026-27 school year.

Many teens do not have mentors in their lives, and we feel it is an honor to work with these students.
